​DESINOPE’s project “Sustainable use of ligno-cellulosic waste in textile applications (LYTEX)”, submitted under the Horizon 2020’s SME instrument Call in the “SMEInst-07-2016-2017: stimulating the innovation potential of SMEs for sustainable and competitive agriculture, forestry, agri-food and bio-based sectors”, was scored as a high-quality project proposal in a highly competitive evaluation process, and recommended for funding, obtaining EU Commission “Seal of Excellence”.

DESINOPE, to obtain a 100% bio-based material for the textile and footwear industry, has developed with a German partner, an innovative process to obtain a green treatment of the paper industry waste transforming the lignin slurry into a 100% capable material to be processed with plastic behavior and excellent mechanical and physical properties.
